Our Library will be on the ballot for the August 6th Primary Election, asking the voters of San Juan Island for an operational levy increase to maintain library services.  

The Library's operational budget is subject to the state's legal limit on revenue increases (1% per year), which has not kept pace with inflation in the basic costs for running the Library.  The Library has been able to use banked reserve funds, set aside after the previous levy adjustment in 2011, but those funds are running out.  Those reserves were projected to last through 2018, but through careful budgeting the reserves were made to last for double the original projection.  

We are a committee of community members and Library supporters, helping to spread the word that our Library needs our help in August!  Vote YES to approve San Juan Island Library District's levy lid lift!
